How do I contact Lourdes Ambulance for non-emergencies?
Email: lourdesambulance@eastlink.ca
Voicemail: 709-642-5090
Do I have to pay for the ambulance service even if I didn’t “personally” request it?
Ambulance called for unresponsive or incapacitated person? You’re responsible for the bill. The caller acted in your best interest.
Do I pay for the supplies used to treat me?
No, residents of NL will pay $115.
Do I have the right to refuse treatment and/or transport?
Sober, not having a crisis, and not a minor, you have a right to refuse treatment. On our arrival, you are responsible for the patient fee whether or not treatment and/or transport occurs. The first concern is that you receive necessary treatment/transport. If you insist on refusing treatment and/or transport, our staff will get you to sign a refusal form. A minor who refuses treatment and/or transport must have a parent or guardian present to sign the refusal form. If we are concerned for safety or well being and you refuse our service, we will contact the medial director/RCMP.
Can I ride in the ambulance with my loved one?
No, unless it is a small child who needs mom or dad beside him/her. You must travel belted in the front passenger seat. We will only accommodate one (1) family member for safety reasons.
Which medical facility I will be transported to?
The nearest unless advised by hospital staff.
