If you require an ambulance, please DIAL 911!

  • The Provincial 911 dispatch center will take important information from you while dispatching the appropriate ambulance.

  • The dispatch center will be able to trace your number and gps coordinates, should you disconnect. They also have the ability to dispatch other agencies simultaneously.

  • Make sure you give a civic address (house or apartment number & street name) and a call back phone number.

  • Be prepared to answer questions regarding your current medical condition! Why do you require an ambulance? Do you have any ILI (Influenza Like Illness)?

  • Please keep your medications and MCP in one location at your home and keep the package the medication came in. We will always ask about your medical history and will want to take your medication with you to the hospital.

  • It is also a good idea to make any written advanced health care directives available. Some people have a Living Will, which states your intentions if you become unable to communicate with the medical staff. (Some people with underlying medical conditions wish not to be resuscitated, some may refuse blood products for religious reasons)

The patient is most always responsible for paying the $115.00 patient fee. If you have a HR & E File number, Veterans, or Native, number that will cover the fee. If the call is regarding a workplace injury, please inform the attendants and they can document the required information. See Patient Fees.
  • According to Provincial policy, we have to transport you to the nearest medical facility. Routine calls, ie; transport to a doctors appointment or diagnostic procedure will require a Doctors authorization.
